the watch as an extension to your phone – not just vice versa
Its not that smart for a watch to track your fitness. But it seems not that easy to get a watch that does smart stuff you really need when you’ve showered and are getting on with your life – like answering your phone calls, tracking your messages and most importantly, paying for stuff.
How Google could be the only game in town for non-Apple people
Sure Apple has Apple Pay for payments. But it has no critical mass (less than 10%) to be considered the leader. The Gold Medal for that goes to Google with its renamed Google Pay – now called Wallet.

So that’s why two leading watches are lined up on the starting grid for this fitness and lifestyle marathon long term test, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro Ultra GPS. Both cost around the £200-250 mark were the mainstream smartwatches all sit. So over the next few weeks, I’m going to see how they stack up against the opposition.
