British Conservatism is built on self-determinism and self-regulation. But the UK’s post-Covid doctrine is moving as far away from that as can be imagined. Gone is our free enterprise, light touch hand of authority. in our democracy, how could this happen when no one voted for it?
Government without the people
I wrote about the recent débacle with the selection of the UK PM. But now we’re seeing the fruits of that selection. While the UK votes for a party rather than a PM candidate, a party’s leader still plays a vital role in the election process. Its unlikely that the British People would ever have chosen a Conservative party led by Rishi Sunak, but we won’t know until 2024 or maybe even early 2025.
We can surmise the direction of policies to come by the Cabinet he’s chosen. Its not looking good for traditional Conservative principles. In fact, not for any democratic principles.
the psychology of the new big state – back to Orwell’s 1984
The Covid Pandemic set a new precedent for how government handles a crisis, not just in the UK, but in a much broader, global context. The Government faced us with scientific advisors, not with a purely medical specialisation, but with a behavioural science background. This was because the psychology needed to adopt an Orwellian approach – a propaganda of fear.
Some felt something was wrong very early on, but the government moved quickly to suppress all discussion and discredit all objectors by taking control of the media. What the Pandemic produced was a situation never experienced before. The unanimity of all official statements regarding Covid was absolute. Dissenting voices were branded “truth deniers”. Every contrary view was portrayed as a conspiracy theory, a heresy, a lie.
The state had actually constructed a conspiracy against truth itself.

What they used was Mass Formation Psychology. It wasn’t new – in fact Joseph Goebbels used it to devastating effect to vilify, dehumanise and eventually justify the murder of the Jews. Gustave Le Bon wrote about it in his book The Crowd in 1895 and is credited with discovering the technique. It involves planting the seeds of fear of impending doom amongst a population or audience then pointing a finger at a group, person or point of view as the cause.
Once the lie is established, the targeted audience will quickly come to accept any statement made by the state authority – however absurd or oppressive it might be – attacking all voices speaking out against it.
I won’t go into the machinations of whether the Pandemic was natural or constructed here – that’s a discussion for another article. Let’s just concentrate here on the specific response to events as they unfolded.
The “experiment” led to the lightning discovery and wide-scale rollout of a miracle vaccine for Covid that had gone through very little testing and an unprecedented indemnification from prosecution for the pharmaceutical companies who sold it, should anyone suffer as a result. Equally unprecedented were the absence of any contrary voices; such was the effectiveness of the “truth blackout” imposed.
the silencing of the enlightened
One voice in particular could have stopped this had he not fallen victim to the Covid censorship. He was key for two reasons. Firstly, he was the father of mRNA, the molecular messenger framework that underpinned the Covid vaccine, but crucially, he understood how Mass Formation Psychosis worked.
That man was eminent virologist and immunologist, Dr Robert Malone.
Dr Malone’s reputation was attacked and attempts to discredit him came from all sides. The official Covid protagonista made a pariah of him. So far reaching was the campaign against him, that even his Twitter account was suspended. His final tweet said it all.
“I am going to speak bluntly,” he wrote. “Physicians who speak out are being actively hunted via medical boards and the press. They are trying to delegitimize us and pick us off one by one.”

A cure far worse than the infection
We are only now, very slowly, beginning to see the damage the Covid experiment wreaked on the global population as side effects, unexplained deaths and body damage starts to emerge. Such is the power of the state’s mass formation psychosis that even now, many still believe the propaganda and live in fear.

What the Pandemic provided was a proof of concept for a fear-driven future governing regime. Gone is the need to provide acceptable, definitive logic. Now the state can tell us anything. But for it to succeed, the state has to become bigger and more powerful to exercise and reinforce its authority. It must evolve into an omnipotent, pseudo-socialist regime.
It must become Orwell’s 1984.
2023 is rapidly approaching. We’re already starting to see a shift towards curbs on freedom of expression, state control of movement – even the abolition of a cash currency to be replaced by a digital social credit system.
A lethal cocktail of the seemingly innocuous
Taken individually, any one of these social elements might be acceptable in some form at some level. But combined, they form a brew powerful enough to dissolve our democracy. Our future is being stolen. The path is taking us ever closer towards a dystopia that we cannot stop.
Is there time left for us – are we brave enough to question the state, even a big state?
